Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds; there shall be no aggression except on the oppressors; payers and peace be upon the Imam of the Mujahideen, our Prophet Muhammad and all his family and companions,
The regime and its Russian and Iranian allies are still engaged in the genocidal war against Eastern Ghouta and its people. It wasn’t enough for the regime that it starved people with its prolonged embargo on Ghouta, killed them with explosive barrels, destroyed their homes with missiles and bunker busters; but it also started using chemical weapons to target civilians who are trapped in basements and shelters. The whole world is watching, live on TV screens, hundreds of children and women uttering their last breath by toxic gases, in a scene that reflects how criminal the regime is in dealing with human beings in a flagrant challenge to the world with its countries, organizations and the call International community.
regarding these repeated crimes, the Syrian Islamic Council affirms the following:
First, the criminal regime wouldn’t have dared to repeat its use of chemical weapons against besieged civilians if it wasn’t for the international complicity, reflected in its laxity with the criminal, who was proved guilty by means of conclusive evidence repeatedly documented by international organizations. Among the most famous incidents were in Khan Sheikhon last year and in the eastern Ghouta years ago, when it first used them. He has escaped punishment and accountability repeatedly, shielded by the Russian veto in the Security Council. The criminal regime has realized that the ridiculous statements by world leaders of “being concerned” their hollow threats are nothing but a scream in a valley or a puff in ashes, which led no nothing but red herring. They have no weight on the ground. This encouraged him to proceed with his crimes using these lethal weapons without reservation or fear of accountability or punishment.
Secondly, what the criminal regime has been doing in whole of Syria since the outbreak of the revolution is all war crimes. It falls under what the international organizations call genocide war against humanity. The drop of explosive barrels on residential neighborhoods, the use of Sarin, Chlorine, Napalm, siege and starvation to death are all genocide crimes against humanity. The world watched the forced displacement practiced by the regime against the people and towns of the eastern Ghouta, and other places like it did in Aleppo, Darayya and others .
Thirdly, the Syrian Islamic Council calls on all Syrians to stand up against this terrible crime, which, in its ugliness, has exceeded all limits and to express their fury against this criminal and those who support it, such as Russia and Iran. We also appeal to the Ummah, leaders and people to act to stop these horrific massacres. We plead the international organizations, who must also move to stop these massacres and hold the perpetrators accountable. All sides should lend a hand to help those besieged innocent civilians who are surrounded by death from every angle and are taste its different sorts and colors.
Finally, this persecution practiced by the criminal regime on our people, which is almost unprecedented in human history, with the silence of the world, its countries, organizations and peoples over is a bad omen for whole mankind. It foreshadows destruction, devastation and demise. We pray Allah to stop the criminals and destroy the oppressors. Verily, those who wronged will see to what end they will come. Praise be to God is the Lord of the Worlds.
The Syrian Islamic Council
