In the name of Allah the Most Gracious the Most Merciful

(Praise be to the Lord of all worlds. Prayers and peace be upon our Prophet, Muhammad, his family and all of his companions)

In light of the successive statements and reports, it seems that Hamas movement is determined to restore its ties with the criminal ruling gang in Syria. In this regard, the Syrian Islamic Council has spared no effort with the help of scholars of the Islamic world to persuade Hamas movement not to proceed with such dangerous decision. Unfortunately, however, the movement did not respond to such endeavors. They, even tried to divert attention from the Islamic Council’s efforts to advise and warn them by leaking a disgraceful photo depicting the Islamic Council’s Scholars – who met with the movement leaders for the sole purpose of alerting them to discourage them from the decision to re-establish its relations with the criminal regime – depicted them as celebrating another marginal event, which wasn’t a part of the meeting agenda.

As it warns Hamas in the strongest terms not to proceed with this dangerous and regrettable decision, and reminds it of Allah’s words: {And do not incline towards the wrong-doers lest the Fire might seize you and you will have none as your protector against Allah; and then you will not prevail.},

the Council declares the following:

First: The ruling criminal gang in Syria is an enemy to all the nation’s causes, aspirations, and projects of liberation from usurpers. It is an enemy to Palestine and its people just like it is an enemy to Syria and its people. Evidence to that are hundreds of massacres starting from Tel al-Zaatar in Lebanon to Tadamon and Yarmouk neighborhoods in Syria to thousands of Palestinian detainees who are still languishing in the worst human slaughterhouses of Assad.

Second: Restoring relation between Hamas and the ruling criminal gang in Syria completes the series of alignment with the Iranian sectarian axis, the enemy of the Islamic nation, that includes Iran, the so-called Hezbollah, the Houthi militia and the rest of the sectarian militias, an axis that trades with the Palestinian cause while continues the excessive blood shed of Muslims in Syria, Iraq and Yemen.

Third: The biggest winner from this decision is the criminal gang ruling Syria, which will take advantage of this decision to appear as a supporter of the resistance of Palestine and its people, while Hamas will suffer the greatest losses, as it will isolate it from surroundings and relations with the Muslim peoples who have always advocated and supported the movement. A decision as such will show the movement as a group which is only guided by its own self-interest against the true interests of the Islamic nation.

Finally: The Syrian Islamic Council extends its great thanks to Syria people for their good faith towards the Council and the scholars and highly appreciates the Syrian people’s stand as they rejected to accept such a photo that shows inclination towards those who intend to normalize the criminal gang. Also, the Council calls on Hamas to publicly step back from such decision, and to respect the sacrifices of its former martyrs, who gained the support of the whole nation and didn’t linger to side with sectarian wrong doers. Otherwise, the movement will find itself in a state of clear isolation away from the Islam Nation and will put itself in the axis of the Wali al-Faqih, militias and sectarian gangs against the peoples of the region and their freedom, history, principles and values.
