In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Praise be to Allah who says, “They plot and He plots, and Allah is the best plotter”, and peace and blessings be upon our prophet Muhammad, the imam of mujahideen and leader of the blessed and honorable, and upon all his family and companions.

Rounds of conspiracy against our steadfast people are non-stopping, limitless and relentless. Signs of a new wave of conspiracy against the revolution are looming at the horizon by the one who has occupied our land, helped the felonious regime with different means stabilize its falling structure, supported it in all international assemblies and repeatedly defended its crimes against humanity by means of Vito in every possible occasion. It has recently invited to the so-called “Congress of the Peoples of Syria” or “Syrian dialogue congress” in Sochi, Russia.

The Syrian Islamic Council, acquainted with this issue as a whole, states the following:

First, the conference, as announced, is aimed at discussing several subjects, including a new constitution and proposed reforms while completely ignoring the political transition process and disregarding Syrian people’s demand of the departure of the felonious regime, which has killed more the half a million, wounded more than million and displaced more than half the population; not to mention the detainees and missing people whose exact number is only known by God. The council sees this conference as nothing but an attempt to maintain the regime, reproduce it and help it avoid punishment for its crimes that are classified as genocide and crimes against humanity.  The regime is making dialogue with itself by pushing the ready-made opposition, headed by the so-called “Moscow platform”, into the lobbies of the regime and its allies as representatives of the Syrian opposition. Moreover, it is an occupation force writing a constitution for a people under its mandate and occupation. It is supposed that the Syrian people writes its own constitution at its free will without any mandate or dictation from any side.

Furthermore, the Russians are introducing themselves as guarantor, but at the same time, they are supervising genocides, such as in the Damascene East Ghouta, which is still blockaded. Starvation began to kill children, the elderly and women. The air raids are still continuous. The recent shelling of a school in Misraba was not the last incident of the kind. How credible is this guarantor, who had pledged to stop air raids and bring in food and medicine as a part of ‘de-escalation zones agreement?

Second, this conference in its title and the statements thereof points out the division of Syria became a fait accompli. It has introduced the term “Syrian peoples”, while it is well-known that Syria is one state with one people. This is why the council sees this conference as an attempt to prevaricate the original demands of the Syrian revolution.  This also violates the five principles that all civil, political and military revolutionary actors have agreed on, on the top of which is the overthrowing of the regime and maintaining the unity of the Syrian territories. Additionally, this is an attempt to prevaricate the so-called “Geneva decisions” and international conferences.

Third, the council highly appreciates the stand of political, military and civil bodies who refused to participate in this conference (treason). We support them and back up their principled stand against pressure and refusal to compromise the principles of revolution. At the same time, we warn the participants not to be tricked by such suspicious schemes and that they will be held responsible before God and before our people. They have traded with the sacrifices of our people and bargained their rights with an aggressive occupation.

The participant will always be seen by our people as partners in the reproduction of the regime, the continuity of its crimes and rewarding the occupation by establishing his roots and taking care of its interests which has been established on the limbs and resources of our people.

In conclusion, the council has shown its principled position of this conference. We declare that consolidating efforts is a must on different levels of revolutionary actors to thwart this scheme and the ones (overtly or covertly) behind it. The council will, god willing, be always faithful to its people and will act as their eye that watches their rights. We ask God, the almighty, to thwart the plots of the malicious ones and reform the efforts of the faithful ones and bring them together united on what pleases Him and achieves the ambitions of our people including freedom, dignity and getting rid of persecutors and dictators. Our last word is praise be to Allah.
