In the name of Allah the Most Gracious the Most Merciful

Praise be to God, the Lord of all worlds, and blessings and peace be upon our Master Muhammad, his family, and his companions.

At this pivotal stage of Syria’s History, the Syrian Islamic Council directs this speech to all Syrian people, affirming that the Syrian revolution has never been and will never be against any specific sect. Rather, it is a revolution against the regime of tyranny and crime. The diverse components of the Syrian people have coexisted and lived together in harmony under successive states throughout history.

Today, we, the Syrian Islamic Council, address the sons and daughters of the Alawite sect, who were dragged by the regime into the fury of its battle to keep Assad’s family in power. To them, we say: you are an integral part of this nation and equal partners with all the free sons of Syria. We share the same rights and responsibilities. Now is the time to abandon this clique that sought to associate Syria with sectarianism. We, Syrians, are waiting for you to stand united with your fellow citizens to build a bright future and secure a dignified living for all Syrians without discrimination.

We address the Kurds, bearing in mind the immense injustice, racism, and crimes perpetrated against them by the regime and the attempts by separatist factions to exploit them for their agenda. To you, we say: the future Syria we strive for is a place where Kurds live with dignity and honor as equal citizens with the same rights and duties.

We address the Christians, the Druze, and members of all other sects and ethnicities, saying: We all have been partners who fought shoulder to shoulder during the Great Syrian Revolution. Today, once more, we stand together shoulder to shoulder to overthrow the criminal regime and build a future Syria that embraces all its free citizens.

To conclude, we pray to God Almighty for the soon completion of this blessed liberation of the country and for the commencement of a new and honorable phase where the values of truth, freedom, and dignity prevail and where all Syrians live as free and dignified citizens working together to establish a Syrian state on foundations of justice and inclusion.
